A discussion highlighting how technical analysis and trading are more of an art than a science. One can develop a feel for the market with skill, experience and a healthy mindset.

This is a conversation with a buddy from a few weeks ago.

Buddy: " I have seen two different chart readers in the past 12 hours; one said soy oil is a buy, and the other said it is a sell. I thought all charts would interpret the same."

Me: "Nope"

Buddy: "Well fuck."

Me: "It is an art, not a science."

Technical Analysis and trading are more art than science.

Skills, experience and mindset determine whether one creates the Statue of David or a stick man.

If one’s mindset is unhealthy, no skills or experience will provide accurate analysis.

One can develop a “feel” for the market.

This often happens in short spurts and entirely depends on one’s mindset.

Happiness and serenity in one’s personal life are critical to maintaining a “Feel” for the market.
